Open Camp: A bright future ahead

The Filipino national floorball team once again hosted its annual Open Camp, and this year’s edition in Nyköping at Rosvalla Arena brought together over 30 participants, both returning players and newcomers with Filipino roots.

As always, the camp mixed high-paced floorball sessions with fun team-building activities. A key part of the experience was the welcoming atmosphere, where experienced players supported and encouraged the new faces—truly living the spirit of unity and community.

A brand-new addition this year was the first-ever Youth Camp, open to younger participants with Filipino heritage. This marked an exciting expansion of the Open Camp concept, offering a space for the next generation to be introduced to floorball and to connect with others who share their background.

In an interview, team captain Lucas Öijvall Enaje and vice captain Sara Hemmingberg Porral reflected on the event, calling it a success despite limited preparation time and competing with a busy floorball calendar. Several tournaments happening during the same week unfortunately meant some interested players had to decline.

Still, the strong turnout and enthusiastic feedback have laid the foundation for the future. Thanks to the positive response, plans are already in motion to host another camp in autumn 2025—provided the interest remains high.

But before that – all eyes are on the next big milestone: The World Games in China. More information about this exciting journey will be shared soon. Stay tuned!
